Continental Divide Trail 2021

Hello,

I’m not sure how many people still read this blog occasionally or get email updates but I just wanted to make a post about what I will be doing this summer! If you are new here welcome, My name is Deserrae or “Early Bird” as I am called on the trail. In 2019 I completed a Northbound hike of the Appalachian Trail and I documented my journey through daily trail journals that I uploaded on to this blog.

This summer (2021) I am attempting a thru hike of the Continental Divide Trail starting on April 11th at the Mexican Border. It’s going to be DRASTICALLY different than the Appalachian Trail in many ways. Although I want to, I’m not completely sure that I will continue to run this blog. The main reason being that I ran out of storage for the free plan and I have no desire to continue paying to host it. However that could change. If you notice I haven’t included any pictures in this post for the same reason.

Anyways, I just wanted to update anyone who still keeps up with this blog about what I am doing this summer! Please feel free to follow along on my Instagram page (@deserrae) as that will be updated most frequently. I also bought a tiny action camera called an Osmo Pocket (similar to a GoPro) so I can play around with some video creation while hiking. If you’re lucky you might get to see some videos from the trail this time!

Please feel free to send me an email (potts.274@buckeyemail.osu.edu) or Instagram message if you have any questions or well wishes! I have no idea how many people still read this… five?

Happy Trails!
